Picture Pages -- August 26th, Part I

I was able to go to Durant in late August to help Jamie write the feature for the guard and also celebrate birthdays for Stefanie A.F., Amy B. and me. Here are some of our highlights.

Pre-Festivities...We're Just Getting Started

Originally our planned included dinner and a comedy club. However, downtown Dallas is not the easiest place in the world to navigate, especially on a Saturday night. And who decided having all one-way streets was a good idea?

How Do You Say, "Hell No, You Crazy Bitch!" in Spanish?

We had the coolest waiter on the planet. We explained to him we were out celebrating birthdays for three of the four of us and he was all too kind and gracious with us the entire time. The evening rapidly spiraled out of control and he took it all in stride. Of course, the most ridiculous one of us all was Jamie...and she was completely sober. We quizzed him on Spanish phrases and he would rehearse us until he was satisfied with our progress. When he asked Stefanie if she'd like another drink, she in turn asked if they were free. At this, Jamie blurted out, "How do you say, 'Hell no, you crazy bitch!'?" At that, we all lost it...as did several of the tables around us.
